Amid growing tensions between India and Pakistan, farmers across the country are raising a common concern — Will the 20th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Yojana be delayed or affected due to the current geopolitical situation?
If you are among the crores of farmers waiting for the next ₹2,000 installment under this central government scheme, here's what you need to know.
🇮🇳 What is PM-KISAN and How Does It Work?Launched in 2019, PM-KISAN is a government-backed Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) scheme under which eligible farmers receive ₹6,000 every year in three equal installments of ₹2,000 each — paid every four months. The money is transferred directly to the farmers' bank accounts to avoid any intermediaries or fraud.
As of now, 19 installments have already been successfully disbursed, and the 20th installment is due soon.
⚠️ Will the 20th Installment Get Delayed Due to National Tension?Given the current border situation between India and Pakistan, many are speculating whether government financial aid schemes like PM-KISAN might face delays.
However, farmers need not panic. According to sources close to the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, essential public welfare schemes like PM-KISAN continue uninterrupted even during times of national tension or emergencies, as they are classified as non-discretionary, high-priority payments.
The central government is expected to release the 20th installment on time, and an official date for the transfer will be announced soon.
