40 Bengaluru schools, 45 Delhi schools get bomb threats

Panic spread across multiple school campuses on Friday after over 40 private schools in Bengaluru, including those in RR Nagar, Kengeri and other key localities, received bomb threats.

Similar threats were also reported from nearly 45 schools in Delhi across key districts including Pitampura, Dwarka, Rohini, South Delhi, and Central Delhi were also targeted with similar threats, according to Delhi Police officials.

The Police have begun emergency security checks, and temporary closures in both cities.

The mass threats quickly turned political in the national capital. Former Delhi Education Minister Atishi and CM slammed the BJP, accusing it of failing to ensure safety despite holding control over multiple governance agencies in Delhi.

Delhi: Prominent schools targetted

Among the schools threatened in Delhi were:

  • Maxfort Junior School and Guru Nanak School in Pitampura
  • Six schools in Dwarka: St. Thomas School, GD Goenka School, DIS Edge, Modern International, Dwarka International, and La Petite Montessori
  • Richmond School and Doon Public School in Paschim Vihar
  • Six schools in Rohini including DPS (Sector 24), MRG School, Sovereign Public, Heritage Public, Delhi International, and Abhinav Public School
  • Summerfield International School in South Delhi
  • Bharti Public School (Swasthya Vihar), Hamdard Public School (Sangam Vihar), St. Xavier's Senior Secondary (Raj Niwas Marg), North Delhi Public School (Shalimar Bagh), New Delhi Public School (Vikas Puri), and Mira Nursery School (Janakpuri)
  • Other major institutions such as The Indian School (Sadiq Nagar), DPS Mathura Road, Mater Dei School (Tilak Lane), DPS branches in R.K. Puram, East of Kailash, and Vasant Vihar, The British School (Chanakyapuri), Faith Academy (Prasad Nagar), Amity International (Saket), Cambridge Foundation (Rajouri Garden), Kulachi Hansraj Model School (Ashok Vihar), and Delhi Jain Public School (Palam)
