New Delhi: Ahead of assembly elections in Bihar, the BJP is going full campaign mode led by top party leaders from Delhi. The top leadership, including PM Narendra Modi, Union home minister Amit Shah, party president JP Nadda and several Union ministers are going to visit the state throughout September.
On September 13, Nadda will be in Patna to hold a core group meeting of Bihar leaders over election preparation. PM Modi will address a public meeting in Purnia on September 15. Shah will visit the state on September 18 and September 27. The party has divided the state into five zones and Shah will hold zone-wise meetings with party leaders and workers during his visits.
Apart from these three, several Union ministers have already started touring the state for the review of development projects under their ministries. Union ministers Nirmala Sitharaman, Piyush Goyal, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, CR Patil and several others have visited the state recently. Sources in the BJP tell ET that the party is planning visits of several OBC Union ministers and chief ministers from other states to Bihar to reach out to the OBC community which form about 27.13% of the total population. Leaders such as Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav, MP state minister Prahlad Patel will be visiting Bihar.
The party is also focusing on youth voters and has deployed leaders like Anurag Thakur, Bansuri Swaraj, Goa CM Pramod Sawant, BJP Yuva Morcha president Tejashwi Surya to name a few. The Yuva Morcha will organise youth conclaves in 14 districts, starting from Gopalganj. The party has also planned to organise 'NaMo Yuva Run' marathon events in different cities coinciding with PM Modi's birthday on September 17.
