Simultaneously, authorities have taken proactive steps to ensure the safety and well-being of Kashmiri students residing and studying in Uttarakhand.
With the revered Chardham Yatra drawing closer, the Uttarakhand Police Headquarters is leaving no stone unturned in its commitment to a secure and well-managed pilgrimage.
High-ranking police officials have been specifically tasked with conducting thorough on-the-ground inspections at each of the four sacred Dhams – Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath.
These senior officers will meticulously review the security arrangements put in place for the devotees, focusing on crowd control and effective traffic management strategies.

Furthermore, the inspections will encompass an assessment of essential amenities, including adequate accommodation and food provisions for the police personnel who will be deployed to ensure the smooth conduct of the yatra.
The responsibility for overseeing these crucial arrangements has been assigned to seasoned officers. Inspector General of Police (Training) Anant Shankar Takwale will supervise preparations at Yamunotri Dham, while Inspector General of Police and Director of Traffic N.S. Napalchal will be in charge of Gangotri Dham.
The critical security aspects at Kedarnath Dham will be overseen by Inspector General of Police (Crime and Law and Order) Nilesh Anand Bharne, and Inspector General of Police (Personnel) Yogendra Rawat will manage the arrangements for Badrinath Dham.
Enhanced Security for Kashmiri Students
Responding swiftly to the recent violence in Pahalgam, the Uttarakhand Police has also prioritised the security of Kashmiri students currently pursuing their education in the state. Local police units have proactively identified areas where these students reside or attend educational institutions.
Authorities have established regular communication channels with both the institutions and the students themselves to promptly address any concerns or anxieties they may have in the aftermath of the Kashmir incident. This outreach aims to foster a sense of security and reassurance within the student community.
