In today's fast-paced life, ignoring health issues can sometimes prove costly. Cases of heart-related diseases are increasing continuously, and often people think that if cholesterol is fine, then everything is fine. But now doctors have a different opinion. Recently, an Instagram post by a Russian cardiologist, Dr. Dimitri, has gone viral, which has opened people's eyes. Dr. Dimitri is a heart transplant specialist and has special experience in heart failure.
What is that test that can save lives in time?
Dr. Dimitri mentioned in his post that not only cholesterol, but there is another blood test that can indicate a heart attack in advance. Its name is - CRP test (C-Reactive Protein). It is also called a silent inflammation marker, which tells about any hidden inflammation in the body. This inflammation can damage the blood vessels inside and can cause a heart attack or stroke, even when everything seems normal.
Cholesterol is fine, but still, why the risk?
The doctor says that the Hs-CRP test is even more important for those whose cholesterol is normal, but internal inflammation persists. If your hs-CRP level is above 3.0 mg/L, it is a sign of high risk. If it is between 1.0 and 3.0, then you are in the moderate risk zone. And if it is below 1.0, then understand that the heart is a little relieved.
What to do if CRP becomes high?
If the CRP is high in the test, do not panic. You can make some simple but effective changes -
Adopt an anti-inflammatory diet like green vegetables, turmeric, fruits, and omega-3 foods.
Walk or exercise a little every day.
Lose weight, if needed.
Stay away from smoking.
And most importantly, consult your doctor.

A life-saving test, not heavy on the pocket
The best thing about this test is that it is not very expensive. This test is done for 400 to 900 rupees; you just need to get it done on time. Its rate may vary slightly depending on the city and lab.
