Jyeshtha Amavasya 2025: In Hinduism, the day of Jyeshtha Amavasya is dedicated to the ancestors. This date is considered to be full of spiritual peace and divine energy. It is believed that observing this fast brings good luck and happiness and prosperity. On this day, bathing in holy rivers and doing charity have special significance.

Ancestors are also pleased. By performing Tarpan and Pinddaan on this day, ancestors attain salvation. If a person is unable to do this work for any reason, then the blessings of ancestors can also be obtained through some special lamp measures. Let us know from Ujjain's Pandit Anand Bhardwaj, by which measures will the ancestors be pleased?
When is Jyeshtha Amavasya?
The Amavasya date of Jyeshtha month is starting from 12:11 pm on May 26. This date will end on May 27 at 8:31 am. In such a situation, the Amavasya date of Jyeshtha month will be celebrated on Monday, 26 May. Due to falling on Monday, it will also be called Somvati Amavasya, which is mainly considered special for the worship of Lord Shiva.
Light a lamp at four places on Jyeshtha Amavasya.
Mata Lakshmi resides at the main entrance of the house. Light a lamp of ghee or mustard oil to welcome the mother. Keep a lot of water with it and keep the door open. This removes negative energy. Lakshmi ji arrives.
The second lamp should be of mustard oil. There is a mythological belief that on the evening of Amavasya, ancestors return from earth to their world. If they get light on the way, they are happy and blessed.
Talking about the third lamp, light a lamp wherever you have placed the picture of ancestors in the house. It is a symbol of faith and strengthens the spiritual relationship.

Worship of the Peepal tree is especially fruitful on this day. Light a lamp of sesame oil for the gods and mustard oil for the ancestors under the Peepal tree. These simple but devotional measures pacify the Pitra Dosha. Happiness, prosperity, and mental peace come into life. The lamp not only dispels darkness but also illuminates the soul.
