Janmashtami Puja Tips: The festival of Shri Krishna Janmashtami is celebrated every year with great pomp as the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna. This day is very sacred for the devotees because it is believed that all wishes are fulfilled by worship and devotion on this day. There are some special rules and methods in the worship done on the occasion of Janmashtami, following which increases the effect of worship, and one gets the blessings of God.

It is very important to keep fast on this day, worship the idol or picture of God, and do bhajan-kirtan with devotion. Also, special attention should be paid to purity and simplicity during worship. These rules of Janmashtami not only make the worship successful, but also purify the mind and soul and bless with happiness and prosperity till next year. In such a situation, every devotee needs to follow these rules properly.
Do not offer wilted flowers to Balgopal.
While worshipping Lord Balgopal on the day of Shri Krishna Janmashtami, make sure that you never offer wilted, dry, or stale flowers. Flowers are an important part of the worship of the Lord, and freshness shows devotion towards him. If you offer wilted flowers, it is considered an insult, and the Lord does not like it. Additionally, August flowers, called Sesbania grandiflora, are particularly unpleasant to Lord Krishna. Therefore, do not use these flowers in the worship of Janmashtami at all.
Do not torture the cow.
Lord Krishna has a very deep love and affection for cows. He was a cowherd (cow herder) and considered cows as his parents. It is very important to serve, respect, and never insult or dishonor the cows on the day of Janmashtami. If cows are tortured or harassed on this day, the fruits of the worship and fast may remain incomplete. Apart from this, such an action can anger Lord Krishna, due to which the devotee does not receive his blessings. Therefore, protect and serve the cows on the day of Janmashtami.
Do not pluck Tulsi leaves.
The Tulsi plant is the favorite plant of Lord Vishnu and his incarnation, Krishna. Therefore, plucking the leaves of the Tulsi plant is prohibited on the day of Janmashtami. To use Tulsi leaves in worship, they should be plucked a day before and kept clean and fresh. Respecting Tulsi pleases the Lord and increases the fruit of the worship.
Wear yellow clothes
Dressing Balgopal in yellow clothes is considered auspicious because the yellow color symbolizes joy, happiness, and positive energy. That is why on the day of Janmashtami, you and your entire family should wear yellow clothes. On the contrary, wearing black clothes is considered inauspicious on this day, and it can affect the success of the worship. In this way, by wearing yellow clothes, you can increase concentration and devotion in worship.
Devotees who observe fast on Janmashtami should not consume rice, onion, garlic, and other spicy and heavy food. It is necessary to keep both body and mind pure on this day. Eat as much fresh fruit, light food and water as possible. Also keep your mind away from bad thoughts, because God's grace is more in worship done with a pure mind.

Respect the elders
Respecting the elders of the house is very important in all festivals, but it becomes even more important on the day of Janmashtami. If the elders are insulted in any way on this day, then the result of the fast remains incomplete and the blessings of Bal Gopal are not received. Therefore, try that the elders of the house lead the worship and all the members of the family respect them. This keeps happiness and peace in the house and God's special grace.
