Actor-politician Pawan Kalyan's Hari Hara Veera Mallu released in theatres on Thursday (July 24) and social media platforms are flooded with early reviews from the audience and critics. While fans of Pawan Kalyan have praised the film, a section of social media users have called it 'disappointing'. Some are also unimpressed by Pawan Kalyan's performance.
In the film, Pawan Kalyan plays the role of Veera Mallu, an outlaw who is assigned the job of stealing Kohinoor diamond from the Mughals. Actor Bobby Deol is seen as Aurangzeb in the film.
Netizens share their reviews
Sharing the film's review on X (formerly known as Twitter), a critic wrote, "#HariHaraVeeraMallu is a lackluster period action drama, weighed down by an outdated and incoherent screenplay, further hampered by subpar technical quality. The first half is tolerable and includes a few well-executed sequences. However, the second half completely falls apart and never recovers. It feels outdated and directionless, as if the director lost track of the plot entirely and added random scenes."
Pawan Kalyan's Fees For Hari Hara Veera Mallu: Actor-Politician Says 'Will Consider Payment If Film Becomes A Hit'Another praised the music of the film as well as its climax. "Background score is grand and suits the epic scale. Songs are situational and blend well, especially the ones during war and emotional transitions. Climax is emotionally strong and action-packed. Leaves a lasting impression with a heroic closure,' the critic posted.
A third review read, "Started as a decent narrative. Ended in complete chaos. First half tries. Pawan Kalyan holds it together with charm, grit, and presence. Charminar stretch, entry fight, and interval give hope. But the second half? A disaster. Script collapses. Visuals hurt. Kohinoor turns into confusion. Flashbacks feel fake. Emotion fizzles out."

Done with my show, painful 2nd half. Pawan Kalyan lost his skill in acting & Aura. Bobby deol performance ok ok. Nidhi in pretty on screen. VFX worst to core. Not even a single ticket worthy episode. Climax is a big let down. 1.75/5 #HariHaraVeeraMallu

We were excited for this magnum opus after hearing the songs and seeing the release trailer, but it did not live up to our expectations in terms of story or visual effects. Keeravani is one of the few people who did their job from the start.β¦ https://t.co/xxmG9Kjk2U

#HariHaraVeeraMallu - The movie had good potential on paper but fails miserably in execution. The outdated taking accompanied by equally outdated & crass acting performances lets this one down. PK looked odd on screen. Apart from Keeravani's bgm none of the technical aspects work.β¦ pic.twitter.com/bqM6qh96KK

PK Screen Presence OK. Bad 1st Hlf & Worst 2nd Hlf. VFX work is horrible. Narration doesnt have a proper flow, scenes r like bits and pieces stick together. Forced Religion angle doesnt help. Other than Keeravaniβs Music, its a Total Crap. SKIP!

Director tried to blend history with fiction but utterly failed. Drama feels tiring, dialogues are terribly written. VFX is below par and dubbing is bad, second half fully dragged .. overall below average.
