Kolkata:In a shocking turn of events, the father of a young woman who had alleged she was raped at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta's boys' hostel has denied any such assault, claiming instead that his daughter fell out of an auto-rickshaw, according to News18.
Speaking to the media on Saturday, the father said he received a call at 9:34 p.m. on Friday, informing him that his daughter had fallen out of an auto and lost consciousness. He said he was told that the police had rescued her and admitted her to the neurology department of SSKM Hospital.
"I have spoken to my daughter. She said no one tortured or misbehaved with her. I have got back my daughter; she is normal. She has no connection with the man who has been arrested... I haven't been able to speak to her at length. She is sleeping. I will talk to her after she wakes up... She had gone to submit a document," the father was quoted as saying by NDTV.
Responding to a question on whether his daughter was in trauma, he replied, “No, she is completely fit.”
Woman's AllegationsAccording to police sources quoted in the report, the woman had filed an FIR alleging that she was called to the boys' hostel for a counselling session. She claimed she lost consciousness after consuming Pizza and water and realised she had been raped after regaining consciousness.
