The residents of Pune's Kalyani Nagar are breathing a sigh of relief and extending gratitude to local MLA Bapusaheb Pathare and his team for their swift and decisive action in restoring a footpath near Suman Business Park, Gold Adlabs Chowk.
The residents of the area faced many issues, including broken, uneven and unhygienic footpaths. Senior citizens faced dangers from two-wheelers illegally encroaching on these footpaths. "It was incredibly difficult and unsafe for us to walk, especially for the elderly and children. We were constantly worried about accidents," shared a long-time resident.
Pune, Khadki Cantonment Boards To Merge With PMC; Dehu Road Left Out – Here's Why"For months, it was nearly impossible for citizens like me to walk safely near Gold Adlabs Chowk. Two-wheelers constantly used the footpath, and the broken tiles made it dangerous. We had raised complaints, but no permanent solution came until now, when Pathare and his team finally gave us back our right to walk peacefully. The bollards, clean footpaths and clear space are exactly what our area needed. It feels like someone finally heard us. Thank you for making this space walkable and safe again," said Monica Sharma, a resident of Kalyani Nagar.
Haresh Barwani, another resident of Kalyani Nagar, said, "Upon hearing the community's concerns, Pathare and his representatives sprang into action. The road outside the Mercedes showroom was in pathetic condition, and nobody could walk on the streets. Now the footpaths are free from encroachments. Also, the PMC has installed bollards on the footpath, due to which the footpaths are solely used for walking, and people are not driving their vehicles on the footpath. We couldn't use the footpaths for the past two years. PMC and Pathare have done a great job. Also, PMC junior engineer Manohar Mali worked relentlessly to solve the issues."
