Mumbai: An incident of vandalism has been reported in Mumbai’s Andheri West area, where an unidentified individual allegedly threw a stone at the Mumbai Metro One car shed, causing significant damage to its glass roof.
According to Amboli Police, the incident came to light on the afternoon of June 3, when the metro control room alerted Shashikant Vitthal Mane (63), the security officer at the car shed. Upon receiving the message, Mane reached the site and found that a stone had been hurled at the shed, shattering a portion of its glass ceiling.
Fortunately, no workers present at the location were injured in the incident. Preliminary investigation suggests that the stone was maliciously thrown from the nearby Adani Heights building, which directly faces the metro car shed.
Based on Mane’s complaint, the Amboli Police have registered a case against an unidentified person and have launched a probe into the matter. The investigation is ongoing to trace the individual responsible and determine the motive behind the act.
