Alex de Minaur previously stated that he prioritises his tennis career over his relationship with girlfriend Katie Boulter. And it's a stance that Wimbledonstar Carlos Alcaraz might take note of.
The 22-year-old couldn't secure a third consecutive win at SW19 this year after being beaten by Jannik Sinner, who avenged previous losses by claiming his first Wimbledontitle on Sunday. Sinner's victory over Alcaraz, with a scoreline of 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4, only furthered the rivalry between the two young stars, which promises to be an exciting watch in the years to come.
Alcaraz is already a five-time Grand Slam champion, which includes winning back-to-back French Open and Wimbledontitles in recent years.

However, the Spaniard has often found his love life challenging due to the demands of his tennis career. In an interview with The Sunday Times last year, Alcaraz opened up about his personal life issues, and the struggles to find love as a young athlete.
"I am single," he said. "I am looking for someone. It can be difficult as a tennis player to meet the right person because you are travelling all the time."
Also in a 2023 interview with Vogue, Alcaraz expressed the complexities of maintaining a romantic relationship while constantly travelling. He said: "It's complicated, never staying in one place. It's hard to find the person who can share things with you if you're always in different parts of the world."
Despite Alcaraz's challenges in the romance department, he could learn a thing or two from a fellow tennis star. De Minaur, who is part of a renowned 'power couple' with British tennis star Katie Boulter, has managed to maintain both a successful love life and tennis career.
The pair have seemingly navigated their relationship through turbulent times, with De Minaur attributing their success to an early commitment to prioritise their careers.
In an interview with ATP Tour in 2024, the Australian opened up about their private chat that has underpinned their bond, noting the importance of balance and honest communication.
De Minaur said: "I think what was very important, as well, in the early stages is that we talked about tennis being our number one priority, and we would make all of this work, just finding that balance. I thought it was going to be quite tough."
Such wisdom might be the key for Alcaraz to find someone who can support him courtside while he dazzles spectators with his on-court prowess.
Boulter revealed in the same interview that she and De Minaur had been keeping their budding romance under wraps for some time before going public, even during joint tournaments.
Boulter said: "Remember that time when we were having breakfast on separate tables?" De Minaur replied: "We would rock down to breakfast at different times. It works every time."
Despite the challenges of juggling an intense tennis career with personal life, Boulter and De Minaur serve as living proof to rising stars like Alcaraz that achieving both love and success on the court is indeed within reach.
