Bake Off viewers heartbroken as fan favourite breaks down in tears as she exits show

Send Push

It was the half way point on tonight's Great British Bake Off, as the remaining seven bakers took part in pastry week. Last week, fan favourite Nadia made her departure from the Channel 4 show, after she became victim to chocolate week. This week, one more left the tent in emotional scenes.

For this week's tricky signature challenge, the bakers were told to put their own spin on savoury plaits, as they made gala pie in the all important technical challenge.

Hosts Alison Hammond and Noel Fielding announced at the start of the episode that the judges were looking for a delicious pastry, with a savoury filling of their choice inside their plait.

Prue said Pastry Week was one of the most important weeks the show has, as she added: "Quite frankly, if you can't make a pastry, you can't call yourself a baker."

Iain announced he'd be adding Tofu to his, and Paul couldn't help but drop a celebrity anecdote, explaining that the only person who had ever impressed him was Friends star David Schwimmer.

Elsewhere, Alison laughed as she told the bakers their pastries needed to be "flakier than her ex," but the jokes didn't last for long as Nataliia was unfortunately eliminated from the competition.

On the other hand, it was great news for Jasmine who was awarded the prestigious title of star baker for the third time in a row, impressing both Paul and Prue with some delightful bakes.

There were many soggy bottoms in today's challenges, but it was Aaron's gala pie was voted the worst by Paul and Prue. Jasmine's pie received the top score. Elsewhere, Tom was left gutted as he revealed he'd had the 'worst day' in the tent.

Speaking on the exit Nataliia said: "I'm proud of myself and I think my little girl would be proud. I hope I made my country a bit proud of me. Oh my gosh I'm going to cry! I'm glad I met all these wonderful people, I love you guys!

Fans were left gutted with the results, as they took to X, formerly known as Twitter to discuss.

"Not Natalia!!" exclaimed one, as another penned: "That's a poor decision!!!"

"NO NATALIA MY QUEEN!!" as a fourth said: "OOOOOO! COME ON DARLINGS, WE'RE GOING RIOTING!!" a fourth exclaimed, while a fifth said: "Brokenhearted over the elimination this week!"
