A forensics tent can be seen this morning erected outside the £420-per-night Park Tower Hotel and Casino.
Taking to Twitter, one eyewitness described the scene as "bloody", and recalled seeing a white sheet being held up while emergency responders worked.
As of this morning, emergency services remain in the area and a crime scene is currently in place, reports The Standard.
An investigation has been launched, but no arrests have yet been made, the Met said.
Knightsbridge is one of London's most-affluent areas, and the murder scene is just yards away from Harvey Nichols, Harrods and Hyde Park.
The hotel charges an average of £420 for a night, but costs can soar to £1,400 during peak times.
It's currently unknown whether the victim was staying there or was in some way linked to the hotel.
It comes after Sir Sadiq Khan announced a new sweeping policing directive on 20 London town centres, where criminal behaviour is blighting people's lives.
Deputy mayor for policing and crime, Kaya Comer-Schwartz, said: “Summer is one of the busiest times of the year for our police with a large number of people out and about and our high streets and town streets are bustling.
“But the safety of our town centres is not just about policing – it’s about building stronger, more connected communities where everyone feels secure.”
