At least 11 people have died and 33 have been injured in the Bangalore stampede. Not even 18 hours had passed since Royal Challengers Bangalore won the IPL after 18 years and all the happiness turned into mourning. In such a situation, the question arises who is responsible for the death of innocent people who went to celebrate the victory? RCB owners, Karnataka government, or the cricket fans themselves…
After winning the final on the night of June 3, a grand ceremony was organized at the Chinnaswamy Stadium to celebrate the victory on June 4. At least 11 people died and 33 were injured due to a stampede after a large number of cricket lovers gathered.
When people were losing their lives outside, the RCB management was celebrating the victory inside the stadium. While Rajat Patidar and Virat Kohli were giving speeches in front of the fans who had come to the Chinnaswamy Stadium, people were fighting a battle of life and death outside.
Questions are being asked from the franchise about the need for such a big and grand event within a few hours of winning the tournament. This was the first time in the history of IPL that a franchise planned such a big victory parade after a victory.
If former fast bowler Madan Lal, who was a member of the team that won the World Cup for India in 1983, is to be believed, then the RCB management could have done this celebration after waiting for two to three days. This event could have been postponed. If Madan Lal is to be believed, then when you celebrated in Ahmedabad the whole night of Tuesday, then why was there a hurry to celebrate in Bengaluru?
PM Modi and the President also expressed grief.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi called the incident 'extremely heartbreaking'. Modi said in a post on 'X', 'The accident in Bengaluru is very heartbreaking. In this sad moment, my condolences are with all those who have lost their loved ones. I wish the injured a speedy recovery.' President Draupadi Murmu said on Wednesday that the death of people in the stampede in Bengaluru is sad and heartbreaking. In a post on the social media platform 'X', the President expressed his condolences to the bereaved families. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and former President Rahul Gandhi also expressed grief over the death of many people in the stampede and said that the state government should immediately review and strengthen the security protocols for such events.
