Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday launched the Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan (Healthy Women, Empowered Families) from Dhar, Madhya Pradesh. As part of this campaign, health camps will be held across the country to provide free medical testing and medicines for women. The initiative coincides with the launch of the 8th National Nutrition Month and will run from September 17 to October 16.
Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister said, “Dhar has always been a land of inspiration. This event may be happening here, but the campaign is for the mothers and sisters of the entire nation. If women are healthy, families remain strong.”
Focus on Women’s HealthHighlighting the importance of early detection, PM Modi explained that many illnesses—such as high blood pressure, diabetes, and cancer—often go unnoticed until they become severe. Through these health camps, women will be able to undergo free screenings and receive necessary medicines.
He added, “You won’t have to spend a single rupee. Testing will be free, and medicines will also be free. The government’s resources are meaningful only when they ensure your good health.”

-
Maternal, child, and adolescent health programs
