YouTuber Mohammad Aamir has found himself in serious legal trouble after being arrested by Uttar Pradesh Police for allegedly creating and sharing obscene and offensive content on social media. The incident has sparked a wider conversation around online responsibility and the growing concern of objectionable digital content.
Aamir, who runs a YouTube channel under the name TRT, was detained on July 25, 2025, after a controversial video surfaced online. In the now-viral clip, he was seen dressed as a sadhu (a Hindu ascetic) while engaging in lewd and inappropriate behavior. This video quickly gained attention for all the wrong reasons, drawing widespread criticism for allegedly hurting religious sentiments and promoting disrespect toward Indian cultural values.
Following his arrest, Aamir quickly released another video—this time not for entertainment, but to offer a public apology. In the emotional footage, he expressed remorse, saying,
“My content is intended purely for entertainment. I never wanted to hurt anyone’s sentiments. If I did, I truly apologize from the bottom of my heart.”
He further promised a change in direction for his channel, stating that going forward, he would only publish positive and clean content. “I vow never to repeat this again. I’ll only upload videos that are respectful and purely for good entertainment,” he said in his appeal to fans and critics alike.
Aamir’s arrest was carried out by the Moradabad Police as part of an ongoing crackdown on inappropriate online material. The incident comes amid a wider effort by law enforcement agencies in Uttar Pradesh to regulate and monitor content creators who cross legal and moral boundaries.
Previously, police from Sambhal district also detained two female influencers for allegedly posting explicit and objectionable content on Instagram. These actions are part of a broader warning to social media users and influencers that publishing vulgar, harmful, or disrespectful content online will not go unnoticed.
The controversy surrounding Aamir highlights a recurring issue in the digital age—where the rush to create viral content often leads creators into ethically and legally dangerous territory. In a landscape where virality can bring fame and income, some influencers find themselves straying from responsible content creation.
Despite Aamir’s apology and promise to reform, public opinion remains divided. While some viewers believe in giving the young creator a second chance, others feel stricter penalties should be imposed to set an example. Critics argue that apologies after backlash do little to undo the harm already caused, especially when religious or cultural sentiments are involved.
Authorities have reiterated that while freedom of expression is important, it should not be used as a shield for promoting offensive or unlawful content. The aim, they say, is not to curb creativity, but to ensure that digital platforms remain respectful, inclusive, and legally compliant.
As for Aamir, whether his apology will be accepted by fans and the law alike remains to be seen. What is clear, however, is that content creators must tread carefully—because in today’s digital ecosystem, the line between creative liberty and public offense is thinner than ever.
