Chelsea are reportedly being forced to bide their time in their efforts to bring Alejandro Garnacho to Stamford Bridge. The winger has emerged as a top target for the Blues, who are still looking to add more quality at the top of the pitch. He has been put up for sale by the Red Devils following a breakdown in his relationship with Ruben Amorim.
The pair have failed to see eye-to-eye since the United boss arrived from Sporting and it seems clear that Garnacho is no longer in his plans. He is thought to favour the idea of a move to Chelsea, who have been linked with his signature for a number of months. However, the forward will reportedly need to wait for other deals to be completed first.
Chelsea are unlikely to sign Garnacho until United's search for a new striker comes to an end, according to The Telegraph. They are currently in talks with RB Leipzig over a move for Benjamin Sesko, who is also being pursued by Newcastle.
It has been reported that a United delegation has been sent to Germany with the aim of finding a breakthrough in talks. Sesko is said to be keen on moving to Old Trafford and would reportedly pick United if it came to a straight choice between them and Newcastle.
Chelsea also need to make sales or loan players out to create space for more forwards to arrive. Marc Guiu has agreed to join Sunderland on loan while Tyrique George is also expected to leave Stamford Bridge on a temporary basis.

Meanwhile, the likes of Christopher Nkunku and Armando Broja have reportedly been earmarked for permanent exits. Chelsea will be hoping for things to start falling into place so they can accelerate their pursuit of Garnacho.
The report adds that Chelsea have carried out a number of background checks on the winger's personality and character. They are said to be comfortable with the results of those checks, paving the way for a deal to be done.
However, with the proposed move said to be dependent on several other transfers, it could be a while before the Blues can really step up their interest.
United have made it clear they will not sell Garnacho unless their demands are met. It was recently claimed by ESPN that the Red Devils had settled on a price tag of around £40million, having previously valued their man at closer to £70m.
Quizzed on the futures of Garnacho and other United outcasts last month, manager Ruben Amorim insisted that club chiefs would not consider lowball offers.
He said: "I know for a fact Omar [Berrada, CEO] and Jason [Wilcox, director of football] and the club have a number for these players.
"If they [interested clubs] don't reach that, they will be Manchester United players, no doubt about that. I understand other clubs are maybe waiting for the last minute, but they can have a surprise."
