Italian champions Napoli are reportedly prepared to compete with for the signature of Sporting Lisbon's £67million-rated striker Viktor Gyokeres. Manager has instructed the club to pursue the 26-year-old former Brighton, Swansea and Coventry forward, who has emerged as one of Europe's top goalscorers.
Conte is in a strong position after guiding Napoli to the Serie A title and subsequently rejecting an offer from Juventus for his services. According to the , the former Chelsea and Tottenham boss envisions Gyokeres spearheading his attack in the Champions League next season. Napoli could now capitalise on Arsenal's uncertainty over whether to chase the Swedish international or RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko.
The Gunners are finally set to equip manager Mikel Arteta with a proven goalscorer after finishing runners-up in the Premier League for three consecutive seasons.
With rumours suggesting that the London club are favouring Slovakian forward Sesko, this could create an opportunity for other clubs to swoop in for Gyokeres.
Sporting have made it clear this week that they will not accept anything less than their £67million valuation for a player who netted an astonishing 57 goals in 49 matches this season for both club and country.
Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim is also a big fan of Gyokeres, having worked with him in Portugal. United would need to offload players first to raise the necessary funds - which is why the £100million interest from the Saudi Pro League in Bruno Fernandes has created such a buzz at Old Trafford.

Fernandes is reportedly seriously considering a lucrative offer from PIF-run Saudi club Al-Hilal. It is claimed that the proposal would treble the salary he earns at Old Trafford, where he has been by far the best player for several years.
Centre-forward is one of a number of areas where United will consider upgrading over the coming months. Both No. 10 positions are set to be improved, with Matheus Cunha expected to arrive from Wolves.
Departures will need to be sanctioned to allow such a flurry of activity to take place. Alejandro Garnacho has been widely linked with an exit.
