Emmerdale Aidan Moore's true identity 'exposed' by fans in John Sugden twist

fans have turned super sleuths to work out the real identity of the mysterious Aidan Moore, who remains in a coma. John Sugden was seen visiting the unconscious Aidan - who he claimed had died - in hospital last week, after Victoria found dog tags bearing his name in John's possession. He explained to his sister that Aidan was a fallen comrade in the army, who died after their base was bombed.

But it turns out John was lying about the whole thing. Aidan is still alive, and was being visited by a woman named Kathleen, who John also seemed to know. John made a chilling comment at his bedside, telling the unconscious man: "Your mum still thinks you might come out of this, bless her, as if that's going to happen... you're stuck, locked in for eternity."

He told Aidan about his fiancé Aaron, adding: "Aaron's a good person, he loves me, he tells me how much all the time. That wasn't your style, was it? You never let me forget I was second best. Looking back, you were always on the lookout for someone or something better, and that messed with my head. I never felt I was enough until now because Aaron's different.

"He sees me in a way you never did and he makes me feel like I matter. I love him for that. So this is goodbye, I won't come here again, it wouldn't be fair to Aaron or to you... be happy for me, Aidan."

Now fans have a chilling theory about Aidan's real identity - that he could be somehow related to Mackenzie Boyd. One Reddit user took to the social media platform to write: "I think you all knew for certain that the person in hospital is now indeed Aidan Moore, but my gosh he does look similar to Mackenzie! Imagine if it was his twin brother, that'll be a shock!

"What if it was John's other half that Aaron doesn't know about? Also, I wonder John did something to 'Aidan' that he ended up in hospital, you could say, months on end? Maybe when he first arrived on the show. Lots of secrets to explore."

Someone else echoed: "I thought it was Mack too and was so confused at first." While another posted: "I think the person in the woods was wearing Mack's very recognisable jacket. From John's 'chat' with Aidan in the hospital it does seem he's some sort of ex."
