Beloved Bollywood actress, TV star, and model Shefali Jariwala has died at the age of 42. Jariwala made her big break in the world of TV and film in the early 2000s before having a popular stint on Bigg Boss 13 - India's version of Big Brother.
The star died at Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital in Mumbai on Thursday night after suffering a cardiac arrest, according to local news outlets. Jariwala was first noticed for her talent after starring in the 2002 music video, Kaanta Laga by DJ Doll. She went on to feature in dozens of Indian films such as Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Shaitani Rasmein, and Hudugaru. Her final career role was on the TV show Shaitani Rasmein which aired in 2024.
Jariwala leaves behind her husband, Parag Tyagi, who is also a prominent figure in the film industry. The news of her untimely passing has sent shockwaves through the entertainment community, prompting an outpouring of heartfelt tributes from co-stars, friends, and countless fans who cherished her.
In a heartfelt message shared on social media platform X, fellow actor Aly Goni expressed his deep sorrow, stating: "I am shocked and saddened to hear about Shefali Jariwala's sudden demise. Life is so unpredictable. Rest in peace."
Rapper Mika Singh posted a photo of Jariwala on Instagram alongside the heartfelt caption: "I'm deeply shocked, saddened, and feeling a heavy heart...
"Our beloved star and my dearest friend has left us. Still can't believe it."
He added: "You will always be remembered for your grace, smile, and spirit." As many others took to her social media page to pay their final respects.
Jariwala was a hugely popular social media star with over 3.4 million followers on Instagram. Her final post came on June 24, just three days before her passing. It showed her looking glamorous in a sleek, silver, flared jumpsuit during a photoshoot.
