Roberto Mancini, the former head coach of the Saudi Arabian national team, has reportedly been approached by Nottingham Forest as they search for a replacement for Ange Postecoglou. Postecoglou was dismissed after just 39 days in charge of the team, following Forest's 3-0 defeat to Chelsea at home.
Despite only succeeding Nuno Espirito Santo in September, the board decided to part ways with him after he failed to secure a single victory in his eight games at the helm. This has opened the door for Mancini to potentially take over at the City Ground, with Forest currently sitting in 18th place in the Premier League table, having secured just one win, two draws and five losses.
According to The Athletic, Forest have been 'in contact' with Mancini about a potential move to the City Ground. The 60-year-old Italian, who has been out of work since leaving his role with the Saudi Arabian national team last year, has an impressive CV.
He has also been linked with a surprise move to Manchester United, with The Sun claiming that he has told friends that he believes he could be considered for the top job at Old Trafford if Ruben Amorim is sacked by the club.
However, such a move seems highly unlikely, especially considering Mancini's past with Manchester City.
Despite a challenging year at the helm for Portuguese manager Ruben Amorim, Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has voiced his support for him to remain in charge at Old Trafford.

Speaking on The Times' The Business podcast, Sir Jim stated: "He has not had the best of seasons," and "Ruben needs to demonstrate he is a great coach over three years."
He further added: "That's where I would be. The press, sometimes I don't understand. They want overnight success.
"They think it's a light switch. You know, you flick a switch and it's all going to be roses tomorrow.
"You can't run a club like Manchester United on knee-jerk reactions to some journalist who goes off on one every week."
