, aka the , has sparked concern from fans after posting a farming update featuring her eldest son, Reuben.
The 50-year-old mum-of-nine regularly shares life on the family's Ravenseat Farm via social media, offering followers a glimpse into the daily challenges of lambing season in the Yorkshire Dales. However, her most recent Instagram post has drawn criticism rather than the usual admiration.
The video in question shows 21-year-old Reuben springing into action during a chaotic moment with a ewe. The footage, captioned by Amanda with "Caught ewe," shows Reuben pinning the animal down while using his leg to keep the lamb in place.
Amanda hinted that the sheep had been difficult to manage, explaining her son "downs tools" to lend a much-needed hand. Amanda wrote: "Everyone lends a hand, there is no one exempt from lambing time tasks." While the purpose of the post appeared to give a behind-the-scenes look at the realities of lambing, many followers were unsettled by how Reuben handled the animal. In one frame, he is seen dragging the sheep by its horn, leading to accusations of mistreatment from concerned viewers.
"Why are you treating the ewe like that? Absolutely disgusting," one follower commented. Another pleaded for more transparency, asking: "Would be really useful to explain what is happening." While a third user added, "I didn't like how you held the sheep! Absolutely disturbing! Animals are treated with respect and not like trash!"
Despite the backlash, many followers came to Amanda and Reuben's defence, stressing that the situation had likely been misunderstood and that such actions can be necessary during lambing emergencies. "Please ignore the comments from any animal activist," one fan urged. "If we listened to them, nothing would get done."
Amanda, who has recently faced scrutiny following an ITV Lorraine appearance, has not directly addressed the criticism. Instead, she returned to Instagram with a lighter update, promoting the latest episode of Our Farm Next Door, which Reuben fronts on Channel 5.
Posting a candid shot of her younger daughters, Amanda wrote: "Sometimes there's s*** to deal with and it's just a case of rolling up your sleeves and getting on with it... So get yourself to a screen TONIGHT. Tune into the latest episode of Our Farm Next Door, 9 pm on More4."
