Upgrading to the latest Apple Watch or one of Google and Samsung's alternatives comes with a hefty price tag, with the average piece of wearable GPS tech costing around £400 - until now. A rare Apple sale has seen the price of the newest
I've been a keen Apple Watch user since acquiring my first SE model back in 2020 but the diminishing battery life has persuaded me to consider newer models on sale. The GPS tracking, Bluetooth, and connectivity still function as they did the day I received it, but it now doesn't last half a day without needing to be put on charge - leading me to look at the newest Apple Watch Series 10.
Retailers and have slashed the price of Apple's Series 10 as the 42mm model drops from an original £399 to £299, and as it beats Apple's own price.
Also an option for shoppers is , as it breaks the price down into what feels like more affordable payments. Plus, shoppers don't have to worry about shelling out hundreds all at once. Shoppers can choose to pay in full here if they'd like or split it across a 12, 24, or 26 month plan, with data costs on top. Personally, this is one of my added perks, as a significant downside to Apple Watches (and many products from the brand) is price.
For Prime shoppers seeking a quicker delivery, the larger down from a previous £429 at Amazon.
The latest Series 10 smartwatch is creating a buzz with its impressive battery capabilities, cited as a top 'must-have' for tech enthusiasts. This nifty gadget boasts an "all-day" battery, promising up to 18 hours of usage and an impressive 36 hours in Low Power Mode.
What's more, its lithium-ion battery supports 'fast charging', reaching a remarkable 80% charge in just half an hour. Shoppers whose budget doesn't extend to the £100 off Apple Watch, there are other options to consider.
The Fitbit Sense 2 is now on offer at It doesn't just measure your exercise routine but also keeps tabs on stress levels, heart rate, and even your menstrual cycle.

It lacks the iPhone compatibility for making calls, a deal-breaker for those hooked on their Apple Watches. For the budget-conscious, the steals the limelight, now £199 at Boots, and wins over runners with its appealing price tag and smooth iOS and Android functionality-something even the Apple Series 10 can't boast.
From personal experience, since sporting my SE watch from its 2020 release, I've noticed that battery longevity really hinges on workout intensity and features like music playback, heart rate monitoring, health alerts, and GPS for calls - the more you use, the faster it drains.
A minor drawback highlighted by Apple Watch users is the device's dependency on iPhones for syncing, particularly if you choose an LTE model. Due to its lack of GPS, it relies entirely on having an iPhone in your pocket for the features to function, although this does depend on the model you purchase.
However, it's fair to say that any performance would surpass the current three-hour average rate my old SE model is operating at. The latest Watch Series 10 also boasts a larger display, a sleeker design, the standard activity tracker rings, and can transmit health and sleep data throughout the day and night (if that's a setting you prefer).
It's also considered to be a robust model, with settings for crack-resistance and dust-resistance, and a water resistance of up to 50m. If these features don't suffice, then the pricier Apple Watch Ultra and may be more suitable for rugged outdoor activities.
