HYDERABAD: Telangana Fire Disaster and Response Emergency and Civil Defence unveiled three robotic firefighters and a hi-tech fire tender at HMDA Grounds in the city on Saturday amid the ongoing fire service week (April 14-20), Ajay Tomar reports.

- Built from high-strength aluminium, the 3.7-foot-tall robot ' Rhyno Protect ' is designed to enhance safety and efficiency during fire incidents.
- It can be remotely operated, enabling firefighters to assess situation and douse flames from a safe distance. They can withstand temperatures up to 900 degrees celsius, climb up to a 40-degree slope and 35-degree side slope.
- Dhairya Lataji of Shree Lalita company said Rhyno Protect can be deployed as a first responder and has an option of a hot-swappable battery
- Robot firefighters will be deployed in Rangareddy, Medchal-Malkajgiri and Hyderabad.
- Equipped with high-definition front and rear camera and thermal imaging infrared camera to see through smoke-filled areas.
- Designed and manufactured in France by French company Shark Robotics in collaboration with the Paris fire brigade and supplied by Mumbai-based company Shree Lalita to fire department.
Rescue fire tender
- Procured from Slovenia, the advanced rescue fire tender costs around Rs 4 crore.
- It comprises over 100 high-end lifesaver rescue equipment imported from Germany, France, the UK, the USA.
- Capable of carrying out rescue operations on building collapse sites, natural calamities, road and rail accidents and in confined spaces

- Smoke exhausters and blowers, handheld and area lights.
- Specialised shoring systems and telescopic light mast and search and rescue camera.
- Inbuilt generator for non-stop power supply.
