Indore: The state govt aims to make Madhya Pradesh a ‘Milk Capital' by the year 2028 by accelerating milk production, said chief minister Mohan Yadav during his visit to Kundal village in Ratlam on Saturday. He announced that the govt will buy cow's milk from farmers and cattle rearers to boost their income and make them self-reliant.
The chief minister, using a remote control, inaugurated 37 projects worth Rs 158.64 crore and laid foundation for 20 projects worth Rs 87.27 crore.
Announcing several key initiatives to be taken for Ratlam, Yadav said, plans are afoot to construct a green corridor from Jaora to Ujjain, which will be of significant benefit to the district. A four-lane road will be built between Ratlam and Khachrod at an estimated cost of Rs 220 crore.
On the occasion. he said that govt was looking for a solution to the problems being faced by residents of Sailana due to Kharmor bird sanctuary. He also approved a Rs 113 crore drinking water and irrigation plan for the area.
Yadav also announced a plan to recruit 2.5 lakh people for govt jobs in the next five years, with all vacant police posts to be filled in the next three years. He also announced a Rs 5,000 per person incentive for industrialists, who provide employment to local youth. He said that farmers would be provided with solar power pumps to generate their own electricity for irrigation, which would reduce their burden of electricity bills.
Addressing the gathering, Yadav also criticised the opposition, he said Congress is gradually being "wiped out" due to its "misdeeds." He praised former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, recalling his five-decade-long career as a leader in opposition and in govt.
Earlier, CM Yadav was given a traditional tribal welcome with a tribal jacket, turban, and a silver bracelet, along with a bow and arrow.
