Jaipur: A 14-year-old girl was killed while her father and six-year-old cousin were injured past Monday midnight when a speeding car rammed into their motorcycle near Sanganeri Gate under Lal Kothi police station limits.
SHO (Accident-East) Rajesh Bafana said the driver, identified as Sanskriti (27), a resident of Jagatpura area, was arrested after the car was intercepted. Police suspect she was under the influence of alcohol.
The victim, Asima, a resident of Azad Nagar near Jawahar Nagar , was returning home from a wedding with her father, Islamuddin, and six-year-old sister when the accident occurred around 12.20am.
Police said the car was travelling at a high speed. It struck the motorcycle from behind, throwing all three riders on the road. Asima, who was seated at the back, suffered fatal head injuries.
