THANE : Joint Commissioner of Thane Police, Dnyaneshwar Chavan, assured Thane’s industrialists and traders of full police support and zero tolerance towards harassment or extortion by anti-social elements.

Speaking at a meeting held recently with members of the Thane Small Scale Industries Association (TSSIA) under the Maharashtra govt's 100 Days Action Plan, Chavan urged Thane businessmen to immediately report any threats or untoward incidents to their nearest police station or via emergency number 112.

“Extortion or harassment of the business community will not be tolerated. Police stations are directed to respond swiftly. Ensuring a safe environment for businesses is our top priority,” he said.

The meeting, held at the Thane Police Headquarters, aimed to boost investor confidence and strengthen ties between law enforcement and the industrial sector.

Additional Commissioner of Police Vinayak Deshmukh, DCP (Zone 5) Prashant Kadam, and DCP (Traffic) Pankaj Shirsat were also present.

TSSIA Secretary Bhavesh Maru and Vice President Ashish Shirsat highlighted key challenges faced by entrepreneurs in Thane.

Several participants shared specific concerns, prompting police officials to promise regular coordination meetings and continued trust-building with trader associations.
