Maharashtra CM Shri Devendra Fadnavis lauds 'Kesari Veer: Legend of Somnath' at Wardha Kabaddi Event

At the Devabhavo Kabaddi Spardha held in Wardha, Nagpur, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra expressed his deep admiration for the trailer and teaser of the upcoming historical epic 'Kesari Veer: Legend of Somnath.' He urged the public to support the film, highlighting its tribute to the unsung warriors who laid down their lives to protect the sacred Somnath Temple in Gujarat.

Sharing the stage at the event were several prominent dignitaries, including Shri Devendra Fadnavis (CM of Maharashtra), Shri Praful Patel (Member of Rajya Sabha), Shri Pratap Sarnaik (Transport Minister of Maharashtra), Shri Ashok Uike (Minister of Tribal Development, Maharashtra), Dr. Pankaj Bhoyar, Shri Indranil Nayak Ji, and Shri Ramdas Tadas Ji.

The event also saw the presence of the film’s star cast—Suniel Shetty, Sooraj Pancholi, and Akanksha Sharma—along with producer Kanu Chauhan and director Prince Dhiman. The Chief Minister’s public endorsement has further heightened anticipation for the film, which honors a valiant chapter of Indian history.


'Kesari Veer: Legend of Somnath'Central to the story is Veer Hamirji Gohil, a young chieftain who, along with his men, is reported to have held off attacking forces for ten days before making the ultimate sacrifice. Sooraj Pancholi portrays Hamirji, describing the role as “challenging yet spiritually enriching.” In line with the film’s devotional themes, Pancholi has adopted a vegetarian lifestyle and spent months perfecting his horse-riding and sword-fighting techniques to ensure authenticity in the battle scenes.

The movie is slated to release on May 23, 2025.
