Aaron Judge injury update: Yankees star misses game against Phillies with elbow pain

Aaron Judge, the star outfielder and captain of the New York Yankees, will not play in Saturday’s game against the Philadelphia Phillies. According to Yankees manager Aaron Boone, Judge is in agony from his right elbow. The team is awaiting his medical test results. Earlier this week, Judge injured his arm but he kept playing nonetheless. The agony persisted, so he is now waiting to have it examined.

On Tuesday, July 23, 2025, Aaron Judge was injured during a game between the Yankees and the Toronto Blue Jays in New York. From the outfield, Aaron Judge made a forceful toss; immediately thereafter he seemed to be in pain. Though in pain, Judge persisted playing. He showed up in the next games versus the Phillies and the Blue Jays.



On Friday, July 25, Judge played in a home game at Yankee Stadium against the Phillies. He went 0-for-3 and had a sacrifice fly. But the elbow pain was still there. Boone told reporters, “He was having a tough time throwing the ball. We decided to hold him out today. I’m obviously concerned, but we’ll wait and see, read the imaging and hopefully have more [information] later today.”

As of Saturday afternoon, the Yankees were still waiting for full medical results to find out how serious the elbow issue is.

Boone and the Yankees hope Judge’s injury is not serious. The team needs him healthy for the rest of the season. More updates will come once the test results are out.
