NEW DELHI: Former India spinner Amit Mishra has firmly denied the "incorrect" and "unrelated" media reports alleging that he and his family members have been booked in a domestic violence and dowry harassment case filed by his wife.
As per reports, Mishra’s wife has sought Rs 1 crore in compensation and claimed that his family demanded ?10 lakh and a car at the time of their wedding.

Mishra, 42, dismissed the accusations and warned of legal consequences for using his name and image in what he termed "unrelated stories".
"I’m extremely disappointed by what’s being circulated in the media. I’ve always respected the press, but while the news itself may be accurate, the photograph used is mine—which is completely incorrect. Using my image for unrelated stories must stop immediately, or I will be forced to take legal action," Mishra wrote on X.
The veteran spinner has featured in 22 Tests, 36 ODIs, and 10 T20Is for India, picking up 76, 64, and 16 wickets respectively. He also has four half-centuries to his name in Test cricket.
Over the course of his IPL career, Mishra has played for four franchises: the now-defunct Deccan Chargers, Delhi Capitals, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Lucknow Super Giants.
In 162 matches, he has taken 174 wickets at an economy rate of 7.37. He remains the only bowler to have taken three hat-tricks in IPL history, each for a different team.
