Rohit Sharma on Wednesday announced his retirement from Test cricket . Earlier this week, TOI.com reported that Rohit Sharma was not a guaranteed selection for the five-match Test series in England, as the BCCI was looking for a new captain.
The Indian captain shared the message through a story on Instagram.
"Hello everyone, I would just like to share that I am retiring from Test cricket," he said in a statement.
"It's been an absolute honour to represent my country in whites. Thank you for all the love and support over the years."
However, the 38-year-old, who led India to the Champions Trophy triumph, maintained he will continue to play ODI cricket .
"I will continue to represent India in the ODI format."
