Even NBA pro Stephen Curry is joining in on NBA Dunk Week , which has taken over the internet by storm. Despite not being typically associated with reel dunks, he is again proving himself to be able to buck the trend. The basketball player has attempted 29 successful dunks throughout his NBA career, 26 in the regular season and 3 in the playoffs, as per ESPN. While he is not highly regarded for dunking, he has had some impressive games, including one in March 2025.

Golden State Warriors erupt as Stephen Curry delivers unexpected slam after six-year dunk drought
Players from all over the league have showcased their vertical prowess during NBA Dunk Week, a social media-driven celebration of the league's top dunkers. Fans have been treated to a dunking show, which includes new footage of rookies attempting to establish themselves and old Vince Carter highlights.

Surprisingly, Stephen Curry hopped on the bandwagon. Golden State Warriors' star joined in the Dunk Week festivities with a lighthearted video on social media that showcased his own version of an "epic" dunk.

The clip is of the Golden State Warriors vs. Philadelphia 76ers game, which took place on March 2. The professional golfer had his first dunk in six years during that same match.

Guerschon Yabusele tipped the rebound after team White's Tyrese Maxey missed a 3-pointer. After robbing him of the ball, Buddy Hield sped it down court to Steph Curry, who was sprinting for the basket.

Then he elevated towards the rim after taking one dribble. This time, there was no finger roll into the basket or layup off the backboard. He made a dunk after slamming it through with his right hand.

"Take a picture!" exclaimed Bob Fitzgerald, the G.S. Warriors' play-by-play commentator. He was aware of the rarity of a Steph Curry dunk. As per NBA, following the epic moment, the NBA pro said:

ā€œI’ve been feeling pretty good.. I’ve been dealing with some knee stuff all year. Take advantage of a cherry-pick opportunity. That will probably be my last dunk, though. I’m calling it right now, that was the last one you’ll ever see.ā€

After that, he gestured to G.S. Warriors’ assistant coach Jerry Stackhouse, who ridiculed him for his lack of dunking. Mr. Curry then said:

ā€œIt was a very random comment this morning and the fact that it happened was hilarious… I will only lay the ball up. It took everything out of me to get up there.ā€

Even though they lost the match, his rare dunk went viral and might be the final one his fans see him do in an NBA game.
