NEW DELHI: The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) “follows a definitive, rule-based process” and is “totally unbiased in probing the Air India Ahmedabad plane crash ,” Union civil aviation minister Ram Mohan Naidu said in the Rajya Sabha Monday, the opening day of Parliament’s Monsoon session.
“There are multiple theories floating about, respect the process of investigation. AAIB has been successful in decoding data from the black boxes of the AI plane that crashed last month. We want to stand with truth, not anything else. We want to find out what exactly happened in the Air India plane crash and that will come out only after AAIB’s final probe report,” Naidu said.
“First set of the probe is done and a preliminary report is out, Naidu said, adding that earlier, whenever the black box suffered damage, it would be sent to the manufacturer for decoding. “For the first time the decoding of the black box has happened in India,” he said.
