PUNE: A 52-year-old manager with a public sector bank’s Baramati branch in Maharashtra was found hanging from a ceiling hook in his office cabin Thursday. Cops said a suicide note cited “high work pressure for the extreme step”, but named no one specifically.
The manager hailed from Prayagraj. He is survived by his wife and a daughter. He had applied for voluntary retirement days before taking the extreme step, police said.
According to police, the note was found in one of the pockets of the manager’s trousers. “We have registered a case of accidental death,” the officer said, adding the body had been sent for autopsy.
A TOI query to bank authorities seeking their response elicited no reply till the time of going to press Friday.
In the purported suicide note, the manager requested the bank not to pressurise employees. It stated that everyone were giving their 100 %. He didn’t mention any name but wrote that no one from his family should be held responsible, a senior police officer said.
