WAYANAD: A 51-year-old tribal man suffered injuries after being attacked by a wild jumbo in Kerala's hill district Wayanad in the wee hours of Saturday, forest officials said.
The injured man was identified as Chinnan, hailing from Mannundi settlement in Thirunelli panchayat here.
The man was attacked when he tried to chase away the wild jumbo which strayed into the premises of his house located adjacent to forests, they said.
Chinnan suffered fractures in his ribs and shoulder.
Though he was first rushed to a nearby hospital, he was later shifted to government medical college in neighbouring Kozhikode district for expert care.
Forest officials and Rapid Response Team (RRT) visited the area and took out necessary measures, sources added.
