Bokaro: Director general of police (DGP) Anurag Gupta on Wednesday hailed the April 21 anti-Naxal operation as unprecedented, marking a significant breakthrough in the state's fight against extremism.
Felicitating the personnel of the CRPF Cobra Battalion, Jharkhand Jaguar, and district police involved in the operation, DGP Gupta said, "In my 25-year service, eliminating eight maoists, including top leaders, in a single operation is unprecedented. The Cobra jawans demonstrated exceptional courage, setting a new benchmark and significantly weakening regional Naxal infrastructure."
Announcing plans to redeploy forces in Saranda firest before monsoon to neutralise the remaining Maoists, the top cop stated, "No more negotiations. Surrender or face elimination. We have detailed information about your activities — from food suppliers to hideouts, daily routines, and associates."
The operation also resulted in one or two arrests, with interrogations under way, he added.
